What Inspired You to Work in Education? I was inspired to work in education because I believe in the power of potential—especially the kind that others might overlook. Every student brings a unique story, a different strength, and a chance to grow into something remarkable. Education, to me, is not just about academics—it's about connection, opportunity, and transformation. I wanted to be someone who helps light the way for students when the path feels uncertain, and who believes in them until they learn to believe in themselves. There is no greater privilege than helping a young person realize they are capable of more than they imagined.

What is Your Education/Background? Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from UW-Whitewater. Masters in Secondary Mathematical Education from Western Governors University. I've tutored math for many years, but I've also worked as a police and fire dispatcher, and I previously managed school bus terminals before becoming a teacher.
What do You Love About Options? I love the flexibility Options gives students when a "brick and mortar" school isn't the best fit for them.
What Inspired You to Work in Education? I managed school bus terminals for several years, and I enjoyed working with the students. After the pandemic, and navigating my bus terminal through the worst of that crisis, I decided to take a break from busing and management. I knew my local school district, Elkhorn, needed help finding substitute teachers, so I decided to help out one or two days a week until I could figure out what my next adventure would be. That one to two days a week turned into every day, and I fell in love with teaching. That then led to me earning a Masters in Education and ultimately securing the position I have today.

Most importantly, the school’s values truly reflect my own. I’m especially grateful for the focus on character development, individualized instruction, and nurturing a genuine love of learning in every student.
What Inspired You to Work in Education? I was inspired to work in education because I believe deeply in the power of learning to shape not just a child’s academic growth, but their emotional and social development as well. I love helping students discover their strengths, build confidence, and develop a genuine curiosity about the world around them. There is nothing like the pure joy of watching a student’s face light up when they learn something new or realize they are capable of more than they thought. Most of all, I want every child to leave my classroom knowing they are valued, capable, and worthy of love just as they are.
